Ah, so THATS why I see that some RC Helis are tilted in their hover. It all makes sense now…

yes and also, the tail rotor of any helicopter pushes the helicopter sideways, if its lower than the main rotor as in most cases, it causes the heli to be more tilted as the sideways thrust is below the main rotor plane. so its better when level with main rotor

Cool video. But I would’ve liked someone to stand next to the heli to be able to judge it’s size. Or next to it’s rc transmitter even.

…very nice machine that you have, I think “Nose-In” isn`t really a problem for you, I just saw your Logo14-video and I`m going to watch your other videos! I like your video style and indeed your great music-background….(the 80`s)simply very good heli-entertainment for heli-freaks like me!!!

Yes, there is advantage for the stability. The tail rotor is at the same height of the main rotor = less turbulence !

I’ll trade my 97 Chevy Van for one!
October 24th, 2008 at 8:36 am
Is there any advantage or difference to having the tail boom bent like that for the tail rotor? I see on most Helis that it’s just straight
October 27th, 2008 at 3:44 am
Yes. T-Rex 700 is… 700mm blades size and this joker is a 800 mm and up to 810 mm blades.
As Align want the whole market, we should expect a T-REX 800 and maybe 900 or 1 000 soon
October 28th, 2008 at 11:56 am
is that bigger than the trex 700?
October 29th, 2008 at 1:39 am
Hehe, I will try to learn nose in
You may also check the other videos for it. I will fly again this bird soon and post video with nose in and more as the problems found during this flight test are now fixed.

Ah! Of course!
If all went according to plan, I have sent you a video which will lend credence to my claim…
(I’m somebody who actually gets pumped up listening to Blancmange, and I can flawlessly recite the lyrics to any Haizy Fantayzee, EBN-OZN, Nina Haagen, or P.I.L. song.)
